When I left Corella two and a half years ago, after having spent 8 months here as a language assistant at IES Alhama High School, I promised myself and all the friends I’d made here, that I would be back. And so I am. A little sooner than planned due to Brexit complications, but back I am. The reason for this promise was that I had had such a good time here. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the things that I had thoroughly enjoyed during my previous stay, was the activities organised as part of the Erasmus programme. It didn’t take long for me to find out about the latest project taking shape here, namely the planting of many, many trees on the outskirts of the town, to create a small much-needed forest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    I have been here a month now, and have spent some time and some effort helping the organisers to realise this vision. Luckily a digger was at hand to dig the trenches that the trees were to be planted in and two of the work sessions were spent planting the trees. Many, many trees. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Further sessions have been spent placing irrigation pipes into the soil and backfilling the trenches. All in all it’s hard work but made entirely enjoyable by the fact that there are always a bunch of friendly, willing helpers, including students from the high school. At this stage it is hard to tell what it will look like once finished, as the trees are all without leaf, but I am thrilled to be part of this project, to make Corella an even more attractive town than it already is.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
