Every year «Biciclistas de Corella» presents an award called «A whole life cycling» («Una vida en bici») for people who have used bikes from childhood to elderhood.
María Pilar Sanz is an 86-year-old lovely lady who always moves around Corella biking. She runs her errands, goes to her allotment, visits her friends… biking. María Pilar and her bike are simply inseparable. She’s fit, active and has very strong legs. Biking everywhere has made her a very healthy lady.
Jesús Ignacio Librada has lead a very different life. He was a lorry driver till his early 70’s, when he retired. He was sedentary, obese (almost 100 kilos) and unfit. When he turned 73, he took up road cycling with passion. He started cycling to near villages and, with the passing of time, he rode up to 160 km in one day. He goes road cycling three times a week and rides an average of 250-300 km per week. Currently, he is very fit, healthy and weighs 64 kilos. He doesn´t take any medication.
Plain and simple, lifelong cycling is this lovely couple’s health secret. Congratulations and thank you!!!
