Yesterday, February 2nd, we went to our high school to carry loads of second-hand bikes in Biciclistas’ van. The bike room was a complete mess with bikes all around, used and punctured tires, pedals… Besides, there were in-line skates and big rolls of colourful paper. We took all the bikes out, tidied up everything and, to top it all, swept the floor and even cleaned the wall tiles. The cleaning lady helped us by mopping the floor. You can see the «before» and «after» in the pictures:
We loaded the van with 8 or 10 bikes and bike parts like wheels and used tires. Besides, we took a unicycle just in case it could be fixed in Tudela. We drove to «El Molinar», a civic centre in Tudela where the recycled bikes workshop is.
Our twin association in Tudela, Recicleta Ribera, is very committed to developing sustainable mobility and environmental values. Besides, they are specialized in donating second-hand bikes. They like saying that they free this donated bikes among underprivileged people.
Thanks to Abel, Juanjo, Héctor and all the members of Recicleta Ribera who gave us a helping hand with our old bikes.
We finished this unexpected day with a visit to an exhibition about green gardens and allotments in Tudela. Finally, we took a peek all around the civic centre and we came back home. Thanks for a lovely day!
