Second day in Lithuania: old cars, amazing school, Bunny Museum…

2021-11-21 por toniopenia

Today we have enjoyued another unique and fun day that has brought absolutely unexpected surprises. We slept in Selemas Hotel, between Kazlu Ruda and Marijampole. First we have visited the Kubilkiemis Old Cars Museum . It was the museum of nostalgia: it had many cars from all eras, old televisions, radios, sausage-making machines, old cameras… impossible to tell about everything that was in this museum.

Ejidijus and Erikas, our great translators

After visiting the museum, we went to the technical school of Marijampole. It is a center for higher studies where they have a very advanced technology: 3D printers, robots, chemistry laboratories… We have done cool experiments like toothpaste for elephants, etc. It’s been very interesting and instructive.

We ate for lunch Lithuanian specialties like stuffed potatoes and potato cakes). Then, Gintare, Dovile, Ejidijus and Erikas guided us all around Kazlu Ruda Secondary School.

After lunch we went to the Bunny Museum, where we put on rabbit ears that we made out of paper. We have lost what little shame we had left and have prepared an apple pie and some gifts with mint leaves. The museum (which exhibits more than 3000 rabbits of all sizes) was created thanks to Reda, our Lithuanian partner, as an opportunity for employment and local leisure with a very original alternative.

We have ended the day with a very long meeting to coordinate the end of our project and start thinking of the next one. Of course, we have closed the day with good beer and even better conversation
